Holding the Trumpet

Holding the trumpet seems like an easy idea at first but for a new trumpet player it can be a little bit tricky! Here are some simple steps that will have you holding your trumpet in no time!
1. Lets start with your left hand since that's what supports the trumpet.Place your thumb on your left hand in the the thumb ring at the end of your trumpet
2. Wrap the fingers on your left hand around the valves and place your pinky finger in the ring opposite the thumb ring.
3. Now for your right hand! Your right hand doesn't really support the trumpet, it just there to play the notes. So put three fingers on the three valves and put your pinky finger in the little slot! As seen below.
